Magento 2 & Adobe Commerce Services

30 Magento stores

Adobe Certified developers

Magento-only since 2019

We build, migrate, rescue and maintain Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce stores for merchants across the UK, Netherlands and the EU. From new B2B catalogues to Shopify migrations, Hyvä rebuilds and rescues of abandoned projects — all on the platform we have focused on exclusively for seven years.

Why merchants come to STAGEM

Most agencies treat Magento as one platform among many. We treat it as the whole job. Six years of focused Magento work means we have seen the most common failure modes — slow checkout, stalled migrations, abandoned codebases — and we know which fixes hold.

Senior-led delivery

Every engagement is led by developers who have shipped Magento for years, not juniors learning on your project. Our developers hold Adobe Certified Professional credentials covering back-end and front-end Adobe Commerce.

Audit-first methodology

We do not start writing code on day one. Every project opens with a structured discovery and audit phase, with a written deliverable you can act on even if we never write a line of code after.

Engagement that fits

Fixed-price projects, time and materials, monthly retainers, dedicated team — we offer four engagement models and will tell you which one fits your situation, including when none of them do.

/CORE SERVICES/

Core Magento services

Four hero services cover most engagements. Each links to a dedicated page with methodology, deliverables, timelines and case examples.

Custom Magento 2 builds for merchants who need more than a theme. New stores, custom modules, integrations with your stack.

Hyvä builds, Luma-to-Hyvä migrations and ongoing Hyvä customisation. Tailwind + Alpine.js frontend that typically delivers Lighthouse scores in the 90s.

Replatforming from Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, custom CMS or Magento 1. Full data migration with SEO preservation and zero-downtime cutover.

Our signature service. Take over failing, slow or abandoned Magento stores. Audit-first methodology with written triage report before any fix work begins.

/OUR PROCESS/

How we work

Every engagement passes through four phases. The shape of each phase changes with the project, but the order does not.

01

Discovery

Structured intake of your goals, setup, integrations and budget. Output: a written scope and engagement recommendation.

02

Audit

Technical review of your store, code, infrastructure and dependencies. Output: a triage report with prioritised findings.

03

Execution

Two/Four-week sprints with development, migration or fix work. Written summary at end of each sprint, with staging visible at every checkpoint.

04

Handover or Ongoing Support

Documentation, training and a clean handover. Long-term partners move into a retainer with defined SLAs.

Engagement Models

Different work shapes need different commercial structures. We offer four, and we will tell you which one fits.

Fixed-price projects

Best for migrations, audits and clearly scoped builds. We commit to a price and timeline after discovery. Adjustments require written change requests.

Time and materials

For rescue work and exploratory builds where scope can't honestly be locked in advance. Senior-developer rates, billed monthly with a weekly progress report.

Monthly retainers

For ongoing support and steady feature work. A defined block of hours per month with SLA-backed response times. Unused hours roll within the quarter.

Dedicated team

For continuous development at scale. A named team of developers working full-time on your roadmap, managed by us, embedded in your processes.

How do I choose between your four engagement models?

Match engagement model to scope clarity, not preference. If you know exactly what you want built and the deliverable is bounded — fixed-price project. If discovery will surface issues that change the scope (rescue, exploratory work) — time and materials. If you have a working store and need a long-term partner — monthly retainer. If you're running continuous development at scale and want a named team — dedicated team. We'll tell you which one fits during the discovery call, including when none of them do and another agency is the better choice.

Can you take over a Magento store from another agency?

Yes — agency takeovers are a meaningful share of our work. CNM Online and QBIC were both inherited from previous agencies that couldn't price the upgrade or had lost the team that knew the codebase. Every takeover starts with a structured audit phase — Magento version, PHP version, custom module inventory, security posture, performance baseline. The audit deliverable is yours regardless of whether we continue together. Taking over a codebase without first understanding it is how rescues turn into bigger rescues mid-flight.

What's included in your ongoing support retainer?

A defined block of hours per month covering Magento security patches, performance monitoring, bug fixes, third-party integration maintenance, and feature work. SLA-backed response times for incidents (priority levels P1–P3 with defined response windows). Unused hours roll within the quarter. Quarterly platform audits to catch drift before it becomes urgent. You're not required to retain us after a project launches — we hand over documentation either way — but most merchants choose to because the cost of an in-house Magento developer in the UK (£70k–£100k/year fully loaded) doesn't pay back unless the development pipeline is full.

Do you offer fixed-price audits before committing to a larger project?

Yes — security audit, code audit, and performance audit are all standalone fixed-price engagements. You receive a written report with prioritised findings and a cost estimate for fixes — whether you ask us to do the work or take the report elsewhere. Most merchants who book an audit end up engaging us for the fix work, but the audit deliverable is yours either way. Audits typically run 2–4 weeks depending on the scope. They're often the lowest-risk way to evaluate working with us before committing to a larger engagement.

Are your developers Adobe Certified?

Two of our developers hold Adobe Certified Professional credentials — one covering Adobe Commerce back-end development, one covering front-end. Adobe certifies individual developers, not agencies, so there's no "Adobe Certified Agency" designation. The rest of the senior team has equivalent hands-on experience without the formal exam. Certification proves a baseline of knowledge but we judge each engagement on track record and case studies, not just credentials.

Where are you based and how do you handle communication?

Ukrainian senior team delivering remotely to merchants in the UK, Netherlands and the wider EU. Working hours overlap fully with London, Amsterdam and Berlin business hours. Weekly sprint updates in writing, staging environment visible at every checkpoint, Slack or email for day-to-day, video calls scheduled when needed. Communication is in English by default; Dutch- and Ukrainian-speaking team members are available on request. We've operated this model since 2019 — it's mature, not pandemic-era improvised.

What happens after the project launches?

A new build ends with documentation, training and a clean handover — your team or another agency can take over from there. Most merchants instead transition into a monthly support retainer, because the platform needs ongoing security patches, performance monitoring, and the occasional feature addition. We don't lock you in. Documentation is delivered regardless of whether you retain us, and the codebase is yours to take elsewhere. Long-term partnerships are something we earn, not contractual obligations we impose.

Can we start small to evaluate working together?

Yes. The lowest-commitment entry point is a fixed-price audit — security, code or performance — which gives you a written deliverable and a clear sense of how we work in 2–4 weeks. Another option is a discovery sprint: a short paid engagement (1–2 weeks) where we scope your project and produce a roadmap. Either route gives you a written deliverable you can act on without committing to a larger engagement. We'd rather start with a small piece of work that builds confidence than push you into a long contract.
